It was nice to read the Sun article last week “Sandoval steps to the left of his party.” I consider myself a moderate Democrat, but when it appears an elected official is willing to do what is best for the middle class and go against lock-step ideology of his party, I will back him to the hilt.
It seems like the only misstep our governor has made was throwing his support to Texas Gov. Rick Perry. I feel our governor has great support in Nevada and should stay away from supporting any person running for office, be it Democrat or Republican. For sure, stay clear of any one of the clowns in the GOP presidential candidate circus.
Getting involved in that would alienate voters like me from supporting him in the future. Any GOP candidate adhering to the GOP standards of pro-rich and anti-poor will crash and burn big time in the next election.
When a disgraced, ex-leader of the GOP is their presidential front-runner, what can that tell you? His supporters are either oblivious to the facts or they hate a president who looks out for 99 percent of Americans.
Mr. Sandoval please look out for the folks who need your help and they will be there for you when the GOP cremates itself.

Governor Sandoval owes no one a apology for his backing of Texas Governor Rick Perry in his bid for the President. After all early on Gov. Perry was the front runner in this race. The debates are a clear example of what can happen when a candidate speaks at length of what he or she stands for. Gov. Perry's inability to keep his front runner position is own undoing. Gov. Sandoval stands tall.
In other words Sandoval should govern as if he were a Democrat instead of a Republican.
hey brian sandoval...
where are the jobs???
smile brian...
flash those phony pearly whites clown!!!
Anyone who truly believes that Sandoval is anything more than a shill for Jones Vargas is sadly misinformed. He is not running the State of Nevada, he is a puppet.
I agree with Judy. Sandoval has done nothing for this state except find money to funnel to businesses through his new economic development plan. Mostly he's sitting back and waiting for an eventual, natural end to the recession. For now he will ignore the carnage from the GOP assault, and when the numbers begin to improve, he'll take the credit.
Some of us think he's a ringleader in the state's GOP circus.
I begin thinking the best about people before thinking the worst. Because Governor Sandoval basically AVOIDS the People, the Press, and anyone knowing where he really stands, one is left with their individual imagination about him at this point.
The ONE thing Governor Sandoval did that has impressed me in 2011, was his veto of the NV ENERGY raise of utility fees for funding the transmission lines. That was the right move. Now do we really know the backstory or his actual motives? NO. But Nevadans are most thankful he did this one act in compassion for our current financial plight.
Otherwise, silence and avoidance is the strategy and our Governor is doing great in that department.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
Blessings and Peace,
Star
Don ......Good letter.
What we really need from Gov. Sandoval is more
jobs and more support for our Public School
System.
acejoker......
YES, I am better off than three years ago.
My health care was improved by President Obama's
new health care program.
And yes, our governor needs advice from Democrats.
Nevada is a blue state, just like your state of
California.
I notice you take alot of interest in our great
State of Nevada, what gives?
Don't you have enough to do in California?
By the way, how's your governor, Jerry Brown
doing?
And stop bashing the man who got Bin LADEN.
It only makes you look like a typical republican
fool.
FOUR MORE YEARS FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA!
acejoker....
And also, President Obama's payroll-tax cut
helped my blue-collar income.
LIVE BETTER/WORK UNION.
"And also, President Obama's payroll-tax cut

LIVE BETTER/WORK UNION."
Teamster:
Lest you forget, I'll remind you. Obama continued the BUSH2 payroll tax cuts [aka extended] in Dec 2010. Only, and I repeat only, after the GOP leadership held his feet to the fire to do so due to the failed economic policies of the Obama economic team.

Carmine,
You can't possibly be that brain-washed.
The only proven failed economic policies were
done by the Bush/republican White House.
You sound as foolish as acejoker.
Teamster:
I know the facts unlike some like you who think they do.
