It’s a given in celebrity journalism that when you ask difficult questions and receive good answers, everybody is going to grab the juicy quotes and run with them. That’s what happened when I chatted to Kim Kardashian and sister Khloe Kardashian Odom, but, fortunately, nobody was listening when I talked later with matriarch Kris Jenner about Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick.
They were here for the official grand opening of their celebrity lifestyle boutique Kardashian Khaos at the Mirage last Thursday, and it was mayhem on and off the red carpet with the thousands of fans who turned out for their appearance. It was Kim’s first real public outing since the breakup of her 72-day marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries.
Until now, she’s dodged all questions about the split, but I managed to get in a couple of goodies. As a dozen tape recorders and mikes were thrust in her face, she smiled at me and told me: “I haven’t given up on marriage. I still believe in love and marriage -- always.” Then she added: “I’ll be solo on New Year’s Eve when I’m back in Vegas celebrating at Tao. I’m not looking for a new man yet." (So ignore any wild rumors about Kim and newly separated Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant!)
“2011 was a year about learning a lot of lessons. The New Year will be about a new me, and I’m excited about that.” Mom Kris told me that hubby Bruce Jenner and she will accompany Kim to the festivities at the Venetian. Kim said she has fond memories of the Mirage where Khaos opened: “Dad would always pile all of us kids in the car and bring us to the Mirage to see the Siegfried & Roy white tigers. I never dreamed one day we’d all have our first celebrity boutique here.”
Mirage President Felix Rappaport toasted to their success in the boutique and then hosted a celebration dinner for the family at Stack. Kourtney, who is pregnant with her second child with Scott, stuck with water. I had a lengthy chat with Khloe and Rob Kardashian about her move to Dallas now that husband Lamar Odom plays for the Mavericks. She was courtside yesterday at his first game of the season against Oklahoma City. Lamar scored 14 points, but Dallas lost 106-92.
Owner Mark Cuban commented, “We have all decided that Khloe is the official favorite Kardashian of the Mavericks, and we’ve welcomed them with open arms.”
Khloe told me: “I am going to live there. I’m looking forward to it because I’ve only heard great things. Kourtney went to school in Dallas, so she’s given me a lot of tips and must do’s and must see’s already. We’re looking for a place to live there immediately.
“Yes, I’ll commute back to L.A. sometimes, but my heart will be in Dallas with Lam. More there than in L.A. We’re doing fine, and we’re both happy about his move to Texas. It’s not going to break us up or cause difficulties.”
Rob added: “I’m going there, too. First, I’ll be able to keep my sister company, and, secondly, I’ll still be able to play b-ball with Lamar. We get along that well. He’s a great brother-in-law. I guess we have all become Maverick fans overnight.”
He then pulled up his pants to show me his new socks: “I’m starting a line of bright, colorful, decorated, upscale, fancy dress socks. It’s a line of funky, colorful, cool designs. It won’t be a Kardashian brand -- it’s just something I want to do . I’ll start with socks, then we’ll see where it goes.”
Rob, who was runner-up in the most recent season of “Dancing With the Stars,” worked the Mirage lines of screaming female fans signing autographs, posing for photographs and even helping click IPhones for the girls to get a shot together. He told me that he doesn’t have a special girl in his life and to ignore untrue romance stories coupling him with pro dance partner Cheryl Burke.
I chatted with Kris about Kourtney and Scott. She told me candidly: “I am so excited about becoming Grandma again now that she’s 12 weeks into her pregnancy. We don’t know the identity yet. I will tell you that I do hope they wind up getting married now, though. I’d like that. We have all come to love Scott. He’s a really good guy, and we love him. He looks out for her, and they are great together. We are all about family, and he’s definitely part of our family, so I’m really hoping it winds up with a wedding.”
Kris said that she’s even changing their traditional family Christmas Day plans so that everyone is together. “Normally, we are all together at our home on Christmas Day, but to accommodate Khloe, we’ll do it this year on Christmas Eve so she can fly to be with Lamar for the Mavs’ home game against the Miami Heat. She’s insisting on being there, so we’ll just move everything forward a day!”

These people are the worst of society and anyone who cheers on this lifestyle is a complete loser! America wonders what is wrong with some of it's children and unintelligent women? The mantra here is have an affair,go to the media and brag about it and then show America how it is done. The old woman is well traveled and her daughters are gaining fast on her. In one case the ugliest Kardashian married the ugliest NBA player and they won't be together in one year,although the bottom feeders will follow thier every move.

I just watched Meryl Streeps 60 minute interview. I'm sure she has visited Las Vegas, yet hardly a story about her. Now, she is a true class act. Then again, she is a 60yo lady who may have been as big a publicity hound as any of the Kardashians thirty years ago.
Wow, only in this culture could their situation appear normal.

Meryle Streep has always been a class act. Don't even put her in the same sentence as the Kardashians! She didn't need to be and wasn't a publicity hound 30 years ago. Her work as an actress was all she needed - one of the greatest actors of our time. She is still married to the same guy and raised a family of, I believe, 4 kids (her daughter looks just like her mother) and lived a relatively quiet life on the East Coast instead of LA.
