With lineup taking shape, UFC 143 tickets on sale this week

Mandalay Bay Events Center hosts Super Bowl weekend card

Tickets for UFC 143, which is slated for Feb. 3 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, go on sale this week.

Members of the promotion’s Fight Club can purchase tickets Wednesday, while anyone registered for the UFC.com newsletter can buy them Thursday. Sales to the general public begin at 10 Friday through Ticketmaster.

With Georges St. Pierre undergoing surgery for a torn ACL, an interim welterweight title fight between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit headlines the Super Bowl weekend event.

Tickets start at $75 and the most expensive seats cost $750. The UFC has announced six bouts in addition to the main event, including important featherweight and bantamweight scraps.

Two top 23-year old featherweight prospects clash when Dustin Poirier meets Erik Koch. Renan Barao and Scott Jorgensen also meet in an affair that could determine the next 135-pound top contender.

Poirier, Koch, Barao and Jorgensen are all undefeated in the UFC since they came over with the WEC merger.

UFC 158
Nick Diaz fails to back up years worth of talk

UFC 158 A welterweight title fight that felt incredibly different wound up remarkably the same. Georges St. Pierre manhandled nemesis Nick Diaz with his wrestling. St. Pierre won every round on every judges' scorecard in Montreal for his sixth straight unanimous-decision victory. Diaz had preached his superiority over St. Pierre for years, but when he finally got his chance, he looked as helpless as all the other challengers to the 170-pound division's throne in the last six years. St. Pierre's consistency continued to amaze. Now it's on to Johny Hendricks, who defeated Carlos Condit in the evening's co-main event. Could he be the one to finally threaten St. Pierre?
