It’s more than just rumor, as plans are moving forward to bring a live version of ABC’s ratings blockbuster “Dancing With the Stars” to the Tropicana in February as a new residency, I have learned exclusively.

Just as Vegas DeLuxe had the exclusives on Motley Crue’s new mini residency at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and our recent interview with Wynn headliner Garth Brooks, we can tip that the new dance-show run will feature a combination of dance professionals and Hollywood stars who have won -- including Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond in Season 9 -- and come up short in their attempts for the mirror-ball trophy.

To be clear, I’m not saying that Donny is signed on for this! The yet-to-be-determined cast will rotate during the run so that it doesn’t interfere with the new Season 14 rehearsals beginning in March. I’m also told that audience members at the Tropicana will be invited to participate in an interactive challenge during the shows -- if they’ve got some skills and the chops to cha-cha onstage.

Coincidentally, “General Hospital” star Kelly Monaco, winner of the first season of “DWTS,” and one of the show’s two-time-champion professional dancers, Cheryl Burke, were in Las Vegas over weekend. They kicked off their night at Koi in Planet Hollywood before going to nearby Chateau Nightclub & Gardens in the Paris, where they joined gorgeous gal pal Jenny McCarthy.

Finally, a major heartthrob headliner with a string of big hits is in continuing negotiations to star at the Tropicana theater next year.
