Former Henderson City Attorney Elizabeth Quillin has taken a plea agreement following her May drunken driving arrest.

Quillin pleaded no contest to charges of driving under the influence and was ordered to pay a $585 fine, attend a DUI class and attend a victim impact panel, according to court administrator Linda Morris. This was Quillin's first DUI offense.

Charges of leaving the scene of an accident and having an open container of alcohol in her vehicle stemming from the May 23 incident weren't included when the case was re-filed in Henderson Justice Court earlier this month, Morris said.

Quillin already has completed the impact panel, DUI class and paid the fine, Morris said.

She was arrested after she crashed her SUV near Paseo Verde Parkway and Carnegie Drive in Henderson. She failed a field-sobriety test and her blood-alcohol level was 0.28, more than three times the legal limit.

After the incident, Quillin entered an alcohol-related rehabilitation program, using vacation and sick-leave time while she was in treatment.

She resigned from her position with the city in early August, accepting a severance package that included a $99,500 payment, compensation for her accrued vacation time and 10 months of COBRA insurance coverage.
