It’s a magical music weekend in Las Vegas, and even rock and roll legend Rod Stewart’s new Caesars Palace run of shows has some stiff competition from the likes of Sugarland, Young Jeezy, Sean Paul, 100 Monkeys and the provocatively named Butthole Surfers.
Fortunately, we also have some sexy beauties in town. Once again, we welcome another Jersey Shore starlet as Jenni “JWoww” Farley parties on the Strip. She’s in head-to-head in competition with one-time Charlie Sheen goddess and porn star Bree Olson celebrating her new Playboy magazine cover and The Girl Next Door, Kendra and Playboy star Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett partying poolside.
There are laughs galore when Ray Romano and David Spade compete just steps away from each other on opposite sides of The Strip. And for something completely different, there’s Dancing With the Stars pro Louis Van Amstel leading his dance-a-thon exercise programs LaBlast.
So be it music, laughter or strutting your stuff in a spa or a nightclub, we’ve got the 411 on the 2-4-6-8 moves in a high-stepping, tightly choreographed edition of the Royal Robin Rundown:
Friday, Aug. 26
*Young Jeezy and Freddie Gibbs perform at The Pearl in the Palms; Phil Vassar is at Mandalay Bay Beach; Aaron Lewis of Staind goes solo at Aliante Station; Fuel fires up at Silverton Casino Lodge; and Paul Frank’s Academy of Awesome Tour presents Battle of the Bands poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel.
*Smash! breaks up at House of Blues in Mandalay Bay; 100 Monkeys, with Twilight star Jackson Rathbone, present a charity concert at Fremont Street Experience; plus, tribute shows all weekend to The Doors at Las Vegas Hilton, The Eagles at the Cannery and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons at the Riviera.
*Ray Romano does his standup at the Mirage in competition for two nights across The Strip with David Spade’s sarcastic humor at the Venetian, the comediennes of The Queens of Tart tease at The Orleans, and comic Jimmy Schubert entertains at the Hilton all weekend long.

*A tribute to the late Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff is at Vanity in the Hard Rock Hotel -- beforehand, Jeff spins at Ditch Fridays at Palms Pool & Bungalows; JWoww parties at Pure in Caesars Palace; Bree Olson toasts to her August Playboy cover and nude pictorial at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at the Paris; Sean Paul hosts at The Bank in the Bellagio; De La Soul is at Vanity tonight and the pool party Revel tomorrow; and Sisqo hosts at Flamingo’s Go Pool and performs at Harrah’s Carnaval Court.
*Three-time world dance champion and choreographer Louis Van Amstel, best-known as a pro on Dancing With the Stars, host and leads three days of high-energy dance and exercise classes LaBlast at Canyon Ranch SpaClub in the Venetian for beginners, intermediates and advanced. “Music is a key component to the classes, using a wide variety of genres ranging from pop, rock, hip hop, country and disco creating an energetic party-like atmosphere,” Louis said.
*Tuff-N-Uff: The Future Stars of MMA battle it out in The Octagon at Cox Pavilion at UNLV; the Vegas CineFest continues all weekend at Tropicana Las Vegas; and radio talk show hosts Robert & Paco broadcast live from Rockhouse Bar at Imperial Palace with 2011 Mrs. Nevada Amanda Kouretas and 2010 Mrs. Nevada 2010 Susie Monahan.
Saturday, Aug. 27
*Rod Stewart continues the debut run of his new two-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace; Sugarland and Sara Bareilles make sweet music at Mandalay Bay Events Center; Tank, Avant and Carl Thomas bring their “Summer of Love” for two nights at the Orleans; and Michael Bolton showcases his hits at Eastside Cannery.
*Country queen Tanya Tucker provides a little honky-tonk love at Boulder Station; Jack Jones croons through Sunday at South Point; Nils Lofgren of The E Street Band rocks out at Sunset Station; The League is at House of Blues; Espinoza Paz performs at Star of the Desert Arena in Primm; and The Half Pint Brawlers battle at Silverton.
*Entertainer Ronn Lucas showcases his ventriloquism skills with some crazy sidekick puppets at Suncoast for two nights.
