A Pahrump man is in jail after he allegedly used a 9 mm semiautomatic to shoot his daughter’s 21-year-old boyfriend in the head Thursday morning.

Daniel Robbins, 46, was arrested and booked into the Nye County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center without bail on charges of murder and battery with a deadly weapon for fatally shooting Christopher Mundy and injuring Mundy’s 14-year-old friend.

The shooting happened about 1:30 a.m. at Robbins’ home in the 900 block of Benson Circle. According to deputies, Robbins’ daughter had been arrested earlier that night at the home for a domestic dispute involving a sibling.

After her arrest, she sent Mundy to the house to get her personal belongings, officials said. Before going to the house, Mundy had several Facebook conversations with his girlfriend's parents, during which time he was threatened, investigators said.

Mundy arrived at the Robbins home, but was told to leave by both Robbins and his wife. Robbins fired a 9 mm round into the front of Mundy’s vehicle, authorities said.

"Robbins then approached the vehicle, put the gun to Mundy’s head and shot and killed him," Nye County officials said.

The juvenile was also struck with the bullet and had an injury to his elbow. He was taken to Desert View Hospital and then University Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.
