A federal judge Wednesday sentenced a 17-year-old boy incarcerated for nine months to time served and $23,775 in restitution after he pleaded guilty in connection with damage to Native American petroglyphs and rock art panels at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in July 2010, the Nevada U.S. Attorney's office said.

U.S. District Judge Kent Dawson also sentenced the juvenile to nine months of supervised release and ordered the youth to follow special conditions of supervision, including avoidance of any federal lands or national monuments for the next nine months.

The petroglyphs had been damaged with spray paint in what was considered gang grafitti by law enforcement authorities.

The rock art was restored by the Bureau of Land Management.

  1. how about adding to his sentence
    1. Spending Friday-Saturday-Sunday & all Summer Holidays working (8) hours a day picking up all the litter On Federal land recreatuiiona areas.

That would be a just sentence.
One summer season would just about do it.

  2. What happens when "PeeWee" does not pay the $23,775 that he has been ordered to pay?

I doubt there is anyone here that believes he is going to pay that money.

  3. PeeWee is not going to pay the fine and never will. He should be made to work and clean his mess he made or pick trash up by the hwyway all summer long as was suggested. 9 months is just a break in action for this guy, no meaning to that punishment.
