Crash
A Las Vegas man was arrested on counts of DUI and hit-and-run Saturday night after leaving the scene of a crash in which a motorcyclist was critically injured, Metro Police said.
The crash happened about 8:15 p.m. on South Koval Lane at East Rochelle Avenue, police said.
Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck west on Rochelle pulled out to make a left turn south onto Koval in front of a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, police said.
The motorcycle, headed north on Koval, hit the truck, throwing the rider to the ground, police said.
The truck then made a U-turn and headed east on Rochelle to a parking lot, where the driver, Steven E. Riley, 50, of Las Vegas, was arrested, police said.
The motorcycle rider, Yvette Countee, 46, of Culver City, Calif., was transported to University Medical Center, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
