LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Trump’s views further muddy the political waters

The news that Glenn Beck’s TV show was being canceled led me to believe that sanity might return to the political world with the silencing of the nonsensical Beck and his boogeyman de jour. My hopes were dashed when Donald Trump stepped in to fill the void of idiocy that Beck will soon vacate.

I always thought Trump was just a pompous guy who had been born into a wealthy family and knew his way around a bankruptcy court better than the best. I never liked the fact that his creditors always took the fall for his poor business decisions, but they knew the odds of getting stiffed were high when dealing with Trump. Such is the way of the business world.

But now I find out that Trump, like so many other politicians today, considers everyday Americans to be idiots. His courting of the “birther bunch,” and his ramblings about bringing China and the countries of the Middle East to their knees when dealing with him as president, appeals to the least informed among us and further muddies the political waters of an America trying to regain political stability and respectability.

P.T. Barnum might be proud of him but The Donald has dropped down a notch from spoiled rich kid in my estimation.
