LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Our nation needs leadership, not showmanship

Well, the battle has begun. We are starting the 2012 political campaign early — in 2011.

I don’t know about you, but I was driven nearly insane after listening to all those political ads during the 2008 and 2010 elections. It wasn’t until I rediscovered the mute button along with the record button that allowed me to eliminate having to watch and listen to all of that BS.

I also found out that if I wanted to know the truth about a political statement that the best place to go was to the Internet and find one of those sites that were nonpartisan. Make sure that you’re not duped by one set up by any political party, but look at a site that will be ethical in telling both sides of the issue, and allowing the reader to decide who is best to represent them.

In 2008 we had to deal with that clown Sarah Palin, and this time around it looks like we are going to have to deal with another clown, Donald Trump. The news media should be ashamed of themselves for giving these candidates any credibility at all.

As a nation of millions of people, we should be able to find people who really care about this country and not about showmanship.
