Brian Scroggins named commissioner of state Employee Management Relations Board

Brian Scroggins, twice an unsuccessful political candidate, has been named commissioner of the state Employee Management Relations Board.

Scroggins, former owner of a sign company in Las Vegas, replaces Andy Anderson who resigned in January.

The board said Scroggins has experience as a member of the state Contractors Board and some other state commissions.

Scroggins unsuccessfully ran for secretary of state and for a seat on the Clark County Commission.

The board aims to foster the collective bargaining process and to settle disputes on unfair labor practices, to deal in mandatory bargaining subjects and to resolve disputes on recognition and determination of appropriate bargaining units.
