Work on U.S. 95 in the northwest valley is expected to require the closure of Gowan Road near the freeway beginning today.
Gowan will be closed from Rainbow Boulevard to Tenaya Way, officials said.
The closure is part of the U.S. 95 Northwest Widening Project that the Nevada Department of Transportation is performing to improve the freeway between Washington Avenue and Ann Road.
Crews will be working on the freeway’s bridges over Gowan Road, requiring the street’s closure until May 2, officials said.
The $68 million project began in August and is scheduled to end next year.
The project involves widening the freeway by adding a high-occupancy vehicle lane. It also includes landscape improvements and new sound walls.
