A 56-year-old man died this morning after suffering from an apparent medical episode while driving in the western valley, Metro Police said.

Julian Czel, of Las Vegas, was driving a Ford Aero Star eastbound on Desert Inn Road at 9:19 a.m. at a “very slow speed,” witnesses told police. Czel then turned south onto Riley Street and struck the rear of a parked utility trailer attached to a truck.

Witnesses tried to help Czel and noticed he appeared to be having a medical episode. He was taken to Southern Highlands Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police aren't categorizing the incident as a fatal crash until confirmation about the cause of death from the Clark County coroner. The coroner's office identified the man today, but his cause of death was pending.
