LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

It’s difficult to respect such an arrogant president

President Barack Obama confirmed what I have thought about him all along. He is the most arrogant person ever to live in the White House.

If you remember, after calling Republicans into a meeting to look like he wanted their input on his health care bill, he couldn’t help himself from rubbing Sen. John McCain’s nose in the dirt by saying that he had won the presidential election.

If you also remember, two years ago while giving his State of the Union address, he again couldn’t help himself, this time bad-mouthing the Supreme Court. He didn’t like its decision on Citizens United, so he belittled the justices as they sat in the front row.

This week, after inviting Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to his budget speech, he once again couldn’t help himself and went into a diatribe about Ryan’s plan, saying it would hurt old people, the poor, children, etc. If I were Ryan, I would have gotten up, walked out, and called for a news conference to announce that it would seem to be impossible to negotiate in good faith on the 2012 budget with such an arrogant, dishonest president!

I was brought up in the 1950s and 1960s and was taught to respect those in authority. That’s why I am torn. I still respect the office of the presidency, but I have lost all respect for the man who now occupies that highly esteemed office.
