A 56-year-old Las Vegas man was critically injured Friday night when he was hit by a car while crossing Martin Luther King Boulevard, north of Alta Drive, Metro Police said.

The man, James Jimerson, was crossing the street east to west, not in a marked crosswalk, about 9:15 p.m. when he was hit by a 1999 Mercury Sable headed south on Martin Luther King Boulevard, police said.

Jimerson was taken to University Medical Center.
