Sir Richard Branson arrives at McCarran Airport on June 15, 2010, and is welcomed by Mayor Oscar Goodman and his showgirls.

How Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman fits into Stephen Colbert's "Keep Fear Alive" campaign is anyone's guess, but the self-dubbed Happiest Mayor in the Universe is sitting with Colbert for six eventful minutes during Thursday night's edition of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. The show airs at 11:30 p.m.

Mayor Goodman and his wife, Carolyn, will be in Washington, D.C., for the Conference of Mayors, and the two will dovetail to New York for the mayor's sit-down with the characteristically unpredictable Colbert. It is Goodman's first appearance on the show. He has watched a few episodes, says city spokesman Jace Radke, and is ready to have a good time. The questions, in general, will focus on what it's like to run the city of Las Vegas, but with Colbert you can expect the unexpected. Expect gin questions, too.
