A two-vehicle collision on State Road 163 near Laughlin killed an elderly couple from New York on Monday afternoon, Nevada Highway Patrol officials said.
NHP trooper Joseph Fackrell said an 85-year-old man and his wife, 86, were traveling northbound in a Hyundai Sonata on Needles Highway and failed to yield to a vehicle with the right-of-way. A GMC Yukon eastbound on State Road 163 then "T-boned" the left side of the Sonata, investigators said.
The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred about 12:30 p.m.
A driver in the Yukon was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, Fackrell said.
The victims' names will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
