Turnovers still a problem for Las Vegas, despite victory against Desert Pines

The Las Vegas High football team's 35-0 victory Thursday against host Desert Pines might look good on paper, but that was far from the case on the field, Wildcats’ coach Chris Faircloth said.

The win was overshadowed by three turnovers.

“We are leaving too many points on the field,” Faircloth said. “It is very frustrating. We are going to keep working at it until we get it fixed.”

Las Vegas (3-1) bounced back after a 40-point defeat last week to Mountain Crest High of Utah.

Hassan Henderson passed for 100 yards and one touchdown and rushed for another score. Farrell Victor had 95 yards rushing and one touchdown on eight carries.

Marquan Major added a 25-yard touchdown catch, Lamond Powe had a scoring run and Dee Hall had a punt return for a touchdown.
