Richard Pérez-Feria, the former award-winning editor-in-chief of Time Inc.’s People en Español magazine and the founding editorial director of Glam Media’s BRASH.com, has been tapped by Greenspun Media Group as its business editor and editor of In Business Las Vegas, the company announced today. Pérez-Feria will edit business-related content for the Las Vegas Sun as well as oversee a relaunch of the business weekly.

“He has great editing credentials and we welcome his expertise in executing our business coverage across all GMG publications,” said Bryan Allison, chief operating officer of GMG.

At People en Español, Pérez-Feria overhauled the nation’s best-selling Spanish-language magazine, making it an unexpected critical and commercial success. Previously, Pérez-Feria was senior vice president of Editorial and Entertainment at República, a Miami-based advertising, interactive and branding agency. There, he focused on the firm’s Web and media projects, entertainment, sports and celebrity clients.

“I’ve been very fortunate in my career to work with some of the best people in our business and help create beautiful, compelling publications and websites filled with sound journalism,” Pérez-Feria said. “Not only are we going to continue that trend here at GMG and In Business Las Vegas, we’re going to challenge ourselves to achieve even more. I can’t wait to get started.”

Before People en Español, Pérez-Feria was editor-in-chief of San Francisco city magazine 7x7, where he concurrently was an editorial consultant to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Sunday magazine, working directly with Editor Phil Bronstein. In 2000, Pérez-Feria was Weider Publications’ vice president of Editorial and Creative Services, overseeing the publishing company’s New York City-based specialty division.

Pérez-Feria has been editor-in-chief for numerous magazines and websites, including SHAPE’s Fit Hollywood, JUMP, Celebrity Style, Tennis Match, PersonalMD.com, Teen Celebrity, Gym, Music Choice and Burn! He was also the founding editor-in-chief of the financial weekly, International Business Chronicle, and the founding editor-in-chief of the award-winning monthly, POZ. Pérez-Feria began his career at Esquire in New York City.
