Man dies from injuries after beating on Las Vegas Strip

Approximate area of incident

Metro Police said a man beaten about a week ago on the Las Vegas Strip died Friday as a result of his injuries.

Officers were called to Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue at 4:30 a.m. Sept. 3 and found a man on the sidewalk bleeding and unconscious with apparent head trauma, police said.

The man was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit, where he died Friday, a week after he was apparently beaten, police said.

Detectives said they believe the victim was approached and beaten by a man described as black, between 18 and 22 years old, 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. Witnesses told police the suspect had four people accompany him as he fled the scene.

The identity and official cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Metro’s homicide section at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
