The nation's self-professed toughest sheriff says Nevada voters should fire Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he supports Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle because Washington needs new leadership.
Arpaio is known for his efforts against illegal immigration and Angle is among his many supporters. She has said every state needs a sheriff like Arpaio.
The sheriff says he doesn't know much about Angle, but he hopes her victory will increase Republicans' clout in Congress. He and Angle are scheduled to speak at the National Tea Party Convention in Las Vegas in October.

Sheriff Joe is a tough old coot and has some unorthodox methodology but Chunky thinks Sheriff Joe has a the right idea when it comes to treating prisoners like prisoners and giving them hard time instead of being soft on them.
Prison should be the most horrible place a person can be and motivation to do their time, straighten up and never ever ever go back!

This is a great endorsement for Angle. Arpaio is currently being investigated by the FBI, the US Justice Dept, and US Attorney General's office for abuse of power and civil rights violations. He's also being sued by various Maricopa County judges and employees, in the amount of $56 million, for false prosecution and harassment.

I agree with Chunky (why he keeps refering to himself in third person is wierd but I digress), prison needs to not be a country club. I work in a jail and its appaling to see these criminals treated better than you or me, getting what they want because they scream lawsuit. I applaud Sheriff Joe because he has the guts to do what is needed, not what the politically correct treehuggers think he should do. While I agree with him saying we should fire Reid, Angles not much better, we are still tapped no matter what.
Best Sheriff in the nation. The People Love him and the Obama Justice Dept. on a political witch hunt to try and destroy this good man who is enforcing the law. This issue alone will bring Obama down in 2012.
Eliminate all Democrats this November.

I think it would be safe to say that a majority of law enforcement officials in Nevada and nationally probably don't think too much of this guy. Because they have a lot on their hands to take care of in doing their job and serving and protecting. And they really don't have much time for politicking.
But this Sheriff's idea of serving only pertains to...himself.

Sen. Reid has always defended the area where Nevada borders Mexico. No illegals have crossed that part of the border since Harry Reid has been Senator. He has also been a big supporter of Australians and midgets.

I see this Sheriff has done more to mobilize Hispanic American voters than anyone else has ever done in the United States before.
When you dehumanize and demonize an entire race of people, and use despicable terms like "anchor babies" and "terror babies" and label them as "criminal invaders," not to mention put a draconian State law into effect that even gets the ball rolling on painting out murals on the sides of schools of children with Hispanic features, and changing history, the only outcome of it is you are going to enfuriate Hispanic American voters.
This Sheriff has stepped forward and aligned himself with the nutball Tea Partiers...people who sanction all of the above. This makes him insignificant.
There are already indications Hispanic American voters are madder than hell. And they plan to march arm in arm to the voting booths on November 2nd with fire in their eyes, united, their only purpose to slap every Republican they see out of office.

y'all need to look into former Sheriff Hege (from NC). He was the former self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in America. Unfortunately he got caught up in his own press releases and got to thinking he was above the law. Yep --- and Joe A is walking down that same path. he'll be locked up within 3 years.

@Doyen - You find is really funny, that your talking about how Angle is beating down Reid. In March, ANY ONE of the 3 republicans were polled at being 12 - 15 points above Reid. Now Reid is 2.5 points above Angle. Check out Wikipedia and you will find that this is the largest change in the polls to take place over that short of pa period when it comes to Angle. She refuses to talk to the press, except for Fox, she just backed out of a debate her and Reid were suppose to have on Oct 21st...I wouldn't trust the woman to wash my kitchen floor.

This Tea Party nonsense is not the Republican way. They are a manufactured radical extremist group of individuals that have no where else to go, and have adopted the Republican party to catapult them into the political mainstream.
We cannot validate them by allowing them to fly under the Republican flag. If they want to band together they should create their own party that is autonomous, and stand on their own two feet. Republicans need to be strong and fulfill their commitment to the values that have sustained the party all these years.
The Tea Party is not what the Republican party stands for. They are a minority that needs to be accountable for their actions on their watch, not on the watches of the Republican party.

Give Google a whirl and see what you find when you search for Sen. Russell Pierce (AZ - Appropriations Committee Chair, and J.T. Ready - prior Republican Precinct Captain). J.T. loves Sen. Pierce and both love Sheriff Joe. Joe sure snuggles up to both in private, but doesn't much like being photographed and video taped with either. Sure are buddies though.
Obviously, Joe Arpaio is far more in touch with the citizens of Nevada than is harry Reid.
Harry has dragged our state down to the bottom and is currently doing the same with our country. We Nevadans do NOT want Harry around.
