Las Vegas Sun reporters Case Keefer and Ray Brewer break down the first week of high school football games and look ahead to this Friday's gridiron action.

T.J. Engle had a pair of touchdowns and nearly 300 yards of offense Friday night to lead the 2A classification Mountain View Christian School football team to a 36-25 victory against 4A Pahrump Valley.

Mountain View trailed 25-24 at halftime but allowed Pahrump only two possessions in the second half. Mountain View coach Ray LeBoeuf estimates Pahrump only had the ball five minutes in the final two quarters

“The way we controlled the ball was impressive. That is what I was most happy with,” LeBoeuf said.

Engle was 10-of-16 for 182 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for 107 yards on 21 carriers. Justyn Anderson caught seven passes for 138 yards and two scores.
