HELP of Southern Nevada
1640 E. Flamingo Rd. #100, Las Vegas
Between all the great deals and rampant consumerism this Labor Day weekend, HELP of Southern Nevada would like to encourage Las Vegans to “shop with a conscience.”
The non-profit organization that helps homeless and at-risk people is hosting a yard sale on Saturday. All proceeds from the fundraiser – which will be held between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the organization’s parking lot at 1640 E. Flamingo Road – will go to HELP.
HELP serves more than 100,000 homeless, low-income and senior clients annually, helping them to become more self-sufficient through direct services, training and referrals. Programs operating through the organization include social services, weatherization, career development, holiday assistance, the Nevada 2-1-1 call center and youth services.
HELP, which stands for its four "building blocks" of Housing, Emergency services, Life skills and Prevention, celebrates its 40th year of serving Las Vegas this year.
Community members have donated all the items in the yard sale. For more information about donating to the yard sale, contact Abby Quinn at aquin@helpsonv.org or call 702-836-2130.
