The tail of a jet plane can be seen Tuesday over a wall on the property of entertainer Wayne Newton. Newton, who lives at Pecos and Sunset roads, may create an attraction on the property that could include a museum and a theater where he'll perform after people complete a tour.

The Paradise town advisory board will meet tonight at the Clark County Government Center instead of its usual meeting place, the Paradise Park Recreation Center.

The change of venue comes because legendary Las Vegas entertainer Wayne Newton is submitting plans to build a museum and give tours of his house in a new venture he calls "Graceland West." Newton's 38-acre property is near the southwest corner of Pecos and Sunset roads in the Paradise area, which covers much of the Las Vegas Strip and the area south and southwest of it.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place at 7 p.m. in the Clark County Commission chambers.

Newton is seeking a zoning change, a use permit and a number of development waivers for his project, as well as submitting a design review for the facility.

A recent meeting between Newton and neighbors had a large turnout, and John Williams, the board's chairman, said Tuesday's meeting is expected to have similar attendance.

The town board will give a recommendation to the Clark County Commission, which will hear the item Nov. 17.

The Clark County Government Center is located at 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
