A house fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to a west Las Vegas Valley home Thursday night. No injuries were reported.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue officials received a call at 10:53 p.m. about the fire at 1000 Antelope Way near West Charleston Boulevard. Four of the six people living in the house were home at the time of the fire. The family’s four dogs were rescued, officials said.

Fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said firefighters put the fire out within 10 minutes of arriving at the scene.

Officials said the family had noticed a small fire had started in a bedroom – the desk in the room and several other items, including a television set, were on fire. The family tried to pour water onto the flames, but it only grew, officials said. The family then evacuated.

The bedroom was gutted, fire officials said, and the rest of the home sustained smoke and heat damage. Firefighters said fire was ruled accidental.
