Let’s not beat around the bush: Rep. Dean Heller is running for the U.S. Senate. Heller hardly has been subtle, as opposed to most other state Republicans, in his criticism of scandal-wracked Sen. John Ensign. Then, on Tuesday, during “Nevada Newsmakers,” he said, “I think (Ensign) will have a primary. If he chooses to stay in, will there be a competitive primary? Probably.” Thank you, oracle Heller. But will he run? “We’ll talk about that in six months.” Indeed. It takes some time to form a campaign committee, get staff, inform Ensign he’s running against him. I can’t wait ...

Dean Heller, John Chachas, probably Danny Tarkanian, maybe Sue Lowden, possibly Chad Christensen, maybe even Mark Amodei, and the usual cast of attention-starved "activists" and former talk radio hosts. Yeah, there will be a Republican primary for the Senate seat in 2012, all right ... the open question is: will John Ensign be smart enough to stay away from it?
Sue Lowden's chickens will come home to roost, while Tark will be the front-runner for that race. The Republican are in serious trouble but they will overcome it.

You forgot to mention the freed up Angle. When she loses to Reid, she will set her sights on Ensign's seat. The government hating Sharron just loves to run for public office.
Dean Heller has been drooling for this Senate seat for awhile, now, and will probably get the nomination. He has kept his head down in the House, made no waves and caused no controversy beyond calling the unemployed 'hobos' when he was in Elko and even that cruel comment caused hardly a ripple.
