Rachel Semmler is studio manager for Applied Analysis. Semmler is responsible for day-to-day operations of Applied Analysis’ graphic and web design studio, providing print design, display advertising, brochure development, publication layout and design, website design and multimedia development.
Steve Kezirian is chief operating officer of Cantor Gaming. Kezirian joins Cantor Gaming from Sprint Nextel where he served as a vice president responsible for more than 5,000 employees in vendor and in-source call center locations.
Cathy D’Andrea is branch manager for the Cheyenne branch and June Abbott is branch manager for the Green Valley branch of City National Bank. Before joining City National, D’Andrea was vice president and acting market manager for First Financial Bank. Abbott was vice president of business development for Service 1st Bank of Nevada.
Lisa Santwer is director of marketing and public relations for Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. Santwer will coordinate all public relations and marketing activities for the oncology practice, which features 12 locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley and employs nearly 350 medical professionals. Before joining the center, Santwer worked with Purdue Marion & Associates. Barbara Abeytia was promoted to director of clinical services for the company. In her role, Abeytia ensures compliance with state and federal laws, maintains appropriate staff levels at each medical office and handles day-to-day operations.
K.C. McCandeless and Hong Nguyen are optometrists with the Eyesite of Anthem, the only Henderson affiliate of Vision Source.
The Faith Lutheran Junior/Senior High School Business Advisory Council, a group of local business leaders who help fund the technology needs of the school, named the following new members: Bob Brown, Las Vegas Review-Journal; Travis Cubley, M.J. Dean Construction; Mitchell Trageton, Marnell Cos.; David Thomas, G. Dallas Horton & Associates; Doug Sartain, Certified Fire Protection; and James Greene, Greene Infuso.
Susan Myers was admitted to the Howard D. McKibben Inn of Court as a master of the bench and Meredith Markwell was admitted as barrister. Pearl Gallagher was accepted into the next class of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Las Vegas program, and Ketan Bhirud was accepted into the next class of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Henderson program. All four are attorneys with Lionel Sawyer & Collins.
LeVerne Kelley of the Nevada Employment, Training & Rehabilitation Department has joined the board of Goodwill of Southern Nevada.
Chris Wilson and Vance Adams took first place sales honors at the most recent gathering of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. Wilson won fist place in revenue generation, leading the country with $253,531 in new sales. Adams took first place honors in new membership sales, securing 372 new chamber memberships.
Heather Herrod was promoted to vice president of business development by RMI Management. Herrod was director of business development for the company.
Richard Byrd is regional managing director for Southern California for Wells Fargo Family Wealth. The Southern California region includes Nevada and Arizona. Byrd rejoins Wells Fargo from Bank of the West where he was group head of the bank’s wealth management group. He previously worked with Wells Fargo as regional managing director of The Private Bank in the Los Angeles region from 1997-2005.
Corporate giving
Greg Heinrich, president of Fairway Chevrolet and long-time YMCA board member, offered the second production 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction at Mandalay Bay. The vehicle sold for $205,000, with 100 percent of the winning bid benefiting the YMCA of Southern Nevada.
MGM Resorts International began framing its fourth home for Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas.
Nannies & Housekeepers USA is donating $25 for each registry membership purchased during October to the Southern Nevada affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The Nevada Contractors Association awarded $14,000 to the four winners of the David Papadopulo Memorial Scholarship. Jonathan Allen, Arnaldo Levya, Erick Mata and Francell Rodriguez each received $3,500 to apply toward tuition and school expenses. All are students at UNLV majoring in construction management and civil engineering.
A dinner hosted by Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Snow Crab raised more than $7,200 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
