The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino is aiming to give the Las Vegas Valley a taste of autumn at its fall beer festival on Friday and Saturday.
The festival, the casino’s first, will have a beer tasting fair from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday in the Grand Events Center and a Oktoberfest Pool Party from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Tank Pool.
Friday’s tasting, which will feature more than 300 house brews from 25 breweries, is a “more upscale” event for serious beer connoisseurs versus “more of a festival feel” at the pool party, said Amy Chasey, Golden Nugget’s vice president of marketing.
Friday night will also feature sliders, wings and sausages designed by the hotel’s chefs and live music. Tickets are $50.
Saturday afternoon and evening will feature more than 200 domestic and international brews at a discounted price, a German Oktoberfest band and more food from the Golden Nugget’s kitchen. Food and drink tickets are $1 on average, Chasey said.
The festival stemmed from the success of the Golden Nugget’s wine tasting fair in the spring, Chasey said. The hotel hopes to make the beer festival an annual event and a staple of the fall.
