Flash Point:
E-mail exchange exposes nastiness factor
Monday, Oct. 11, 2010 | 2 a.m.
Just when you thought the U.S. Senate race could not get more bizarre, it did. An e-mail exchange between ex-Gov. Bob List and his former campaign manager Sig Rogich exposed the rifts in the state GOP. The exchange is posted on my blog and is incredibly raw and vitriolic. As one national journalist who saw it said, “It seems from a distance this race is tearing the political fabric of your state apart.” Indeed it is.

The endorsement of Senator Harry Reid by Sig Rogich and many other prominent traditional Republicans will not tear the political fabric of our state apart as Ralston states.
This is a positive development for two reasons. I believe this "coming together" for Nevadans will carry over to the Nevada Legislature where there will be a spirit of real cooperation.
The Legislature will do the right thing for the right reasons.
Secondly, The opportunity to return to traditional Republicanism will strengthen the real Republican party, not weaken it.
If "Lemons to Lemonade Angle" is strongly defeated then the traditional Republicans will have gained a strong position for future elections.
Nevada does not need any more Quacks.
The political fabric of Nevada is in no danger, but the Nevada Republican Party is being exposed as a fractured, clueless band of hapless ideologues with nary an idea among them. Popcorn, anyone?
List sold out to the Nuclear Waste industry and should not be considered a Nevadan.
