Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Wednesday in a van outside a Henderson convenience store.

A store clerk at Chevron, 3061 St. Rose Parkway, near St. Rose's intersection with Seven Hills Drive, saw a man with blood on him outside the store about 11:30 a.m., then noticed another man inside a van who also was bloody.

Police arrived to find the man inside the van was dead. The man outside the van was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus, where his condition wasn't known.

Police spokesman Keith Paul said both men apparently arrived together in the van and police believe they were attacked at another location. Authorities don't know where the attack occurred.

“We do not know if it happened in Metro’s jurisidiction or our jurisdiction but, of course, we’ll cooperate with Metro Police,” Paul said.

Paul said an autopsy will determine the nature of the deceased man’s wounds.

The names of the men weren't being released Wednesday. No arrests have been made.

The store was expected to remain closed until late in the afternoon.
