CARSON CITY – Terri Janison is resigning as president of the Clark County School Board and will join the administration of Gov.-elect Brian Sandoval.

Janison, who has been a member of the school board since 2005, will be director of community relations and run Sandoval's Las Vegas office.

Sandoval said Janison’s experience on the school board “will be invaluable as we reach out to engage the community in reform efforts” in education. He said she knows how important it is to find new approaches.

Janison has worked as a court-appointed special advocate representing foster children in the court system. She has also been an executive director of nonprofit organizations serving children.
