The bulbs brightened Friday at the 10th annual Gift of Lights display, this year at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The event, produced by Meehan and Associates, will showcase millions of holiday lights in an assortment of characters and scenes through the New Year's holiday.
Admission is $15 per car. For every ticket sold, $2 will be donated to the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.
The Gift of Lights moved to the speedway from Sunset Park, where it had spent its first nine years, after a disagreement with Clark County over the contract to use the park.

Gift of lights? What a hoot! Now you have to drive to the speedway. And where's the gift?15 bucks.Where my wife and I live its called lights of the season.Cost? Not one red cent! The power company donates the power! And it takes a bit longer to get through. And if there are any kids in the car, they receive a small gift! Now thats a gift, and what is really funny, there is a donation box for toys for tots, and most of the small gifts the kids receive at the end are put into that same box for the needed! Now talk about a gift!
I agree with rumrunner. I used to live in Milwaukee, and they had this thing called Candy Cane Lane. It was free, and it had millions of lights decorating people's houses. So many would come. I love the Christmas season, and I really, really, really love the lights. They're my favorite part, but charging for this? Seems more "Scrooge" than "gift".
