The Village at Lake Las Vegas will kick off its holiday festivities this Saturday and Sunday.
Contemporary Christian singer Annie Meadows will headline the weekend's events, giving a performance during a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Children will have a chance to meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. A holiday art festival featuring valley artists will be on going, and the village's ice skating rink will be open for visitors.
Throughout the weekend, Lake Las Vegas will be collecting donations for Operation Christmas Child, which distributes gifts to needy children across the world. Guests are asked to bring a shoebox stuffed with school supplies, small toys, hygiene items and candy.
Ice skating is $12 for adults and $12 for children. For every ticket purchased, $5 will be donated to various charities affiliated with the weekend's event.
