It was a triumphant return for the supreme Diana Ross at the first of her two weekend shows at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace last night. The world-acclaimed superstar singer owned the stage from the moment she walked on it dazzling her enthusiastic fans in a shimmering Bob Mackie gown topped with a massive yellow boa throw.
Even if it did look as if she’d borrowed it from fellow Colosseum headliner Cher’s closet, the fabulous Miss Ross was the total mega-star attraction. Her Las Vegas career began more than three decades ago with appearances at Caesars Palace, and last night not only did it look and sound as if she’d never left, but it also generated the electrical excitement as if she still owned the place.
We’ll use my Twitter account @Robin_Leach to report tonight’s finale. Meantime, our thanks to Brian Jones of Las Vegas News Bureau for his two sensational opening photos.

Why wasn't Diana's set list included? How many encores did Diana come back on stage for? Did she have any banter with her audience? Was this a sold-out concert? This is definitely a bad attempt at a concert review.
