Metro Police say they have arrested a Las Vegas man they suspect has been plotting to kill his girlfriend with drugs.
William Ronald Webb Jr., 42, has been arrested on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit a crime.
He is being held in the Clark County Detention Center without bail and is scheduled to have his first court appearance at 7:30 a.m. Monday in Las Vegas Justice Court.
Police said Webb is accused of plotting to kill Nancy Quon, a local attorney, by giving her large amounts of the drug gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, which is known by the street name GHB.
"Whether Quon was suicidal and involved in the plot remains under investigation," police said in a prepared statement.
Webb was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of a local hotel-casino where he and Quon were living following an Oct. 28 fire at their residence, police said.
Police said the investigation is continuing and anyone with information on the crime is urged to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 702-385-5555 or on the Internet at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
