A truck collided with a bicycle Friday afternoon in North Las Vegas, killing a 50-year-old woman on her bicycle on Craig Road.

Police responded at 2:37 p.m. to an accident in the 1800 block of West Craig Road and found the woman pinned under a Toyota Tundra truck, officials said. Emergency medical personnel arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene, police said.

Preliminary investigation shows that the 26-year-old North Las Vegas motorist was exiting the private drive of a commercial parking lot and attempted to make a right turn onto Craig Road, police said.

At the same time, the woman was riding her bike on the sidewalk and was struck as she attempted to cross the private drive, police said.

Nobody has been charged in the accident and police are continuing to investigate who is at fault. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify the woman. This is the eighth fatal traffic collision in North Las Vegas this year.
