The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified a passenger who died in an alcohol-related crash Oct. 30 in the south Las Vegas Valley.

Herman Morales, 26, of Las Vegas, died from multiple injuries suffered in the accident. He died at the scene.

The driver, 24-year-old Ricardo Orozco-Garcia, of Las Vegas, was treated for minor injuries at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, then arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center in connection with one count of DUI resulting in death.

Authorities responded at 2:43 a.m. Oct. 30 to the crash on the Paradise/Maryland interconnect at Woodwinds Way. That location is just west of Interstate 215 between Robindale Road and Windmill Lane.

Investigators said a 2004 Nissan Maxima was southbound on the Paradise/Maryland interconnect in the far right lane when the driver lost control of the car for an unknown reason. The vehicle veered off the road and struck the west curb before hitting a block wall, police said.

The Nissan came to rest in the roadway. No other vehicles were involved.

This is the 62nd fatal crash this year in the Metro Police jurisdiction.
