Election Results
Officials today said 63.3 percent of registered voters in Clark County cast a ballot in Tuesday's general election.
That represents a 7-percentage point increase in voter turnout in Clark County compared to the 2006 midterm elections, when 56 percent of registered voters participated.
Of those who voted, about 55 percent cast their ballots early and another 7 percent voted by mail, officials said.
On Tuesday, 174,341 people voted at the polls in Clark County, or about 37 percent of residents who cast a ballots.
Of Clark County residents who voted in 2006, 54 percent voted early.
The Clark County Commission will canvass the voting returns — making them official — at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the Commission Chambers.

The fact that you can't spell Senator Reid's name correctly, despite it being all over the Sun's website, speaks volumns.
hahaha, that's awesome, only 63% show up to vote. Shows you right there that all the political options are a JOKE.
sevenhills says: "Shows you right there that all the political options are a JOKE."
It shows that people are to lazy to get away from the computer and do something about their future.
They would rather just post nonsense here.
tmcoffee2003, you are a perfect example of your statement.
vegaslee, 7hills has a point.
The concept of voting indicates "choice."
When you look at a ballot and see no reasonable choice, walking away is the only intelligent, reasonable choice.
Voting for wealthy left or wealthy right has become tedious and insulting to the "unequal" working class.
I will walk around for the remainder of this year, looking at voting age people.
A majority (63.3%) made a choice (voted) from a position of no choice.
This voluntary action (really programmed patriotism) earned Las Vegas the right to retain the "Dumbest in the Land" heavyweight belt.
Don't be insulted.
Stop waving your flag and...think.
Do you know the record percentage for a state wide election?
@ TMcoffee2003,
I apologize for being a stickler, but when you are calling others stupid, you might want to hit spell-check. You spelled Reid and night incorrectly.
