Election trivia: Reno edition
Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 | 2:01 a.m.
Some trivia for the end of this election season, the answer to which Harry Reid hopes remains unchanged: Who was the last U.S. senator to be elected from Nevada who resided in Reno? No, not Paul Laxalt in 1974 — he lived in Carson City. It was Alan Bible, who was elected in 1954 when he was practicing law in Reno. Not only would Sharron Angle knock off the first Democratic majority leader in 58 years, she would become the first U.S. senator from Reno in 56 years. Those are two records that will either be broken or continue to stand after tonight’s votes are counted — and, please, don’t say that dreaded seven-letter word today (“recount”).

Will she reside on the 92 acres deeded to the State by the Federal Government in the early 1800's for a certain purpose?

I hear there are already recount expert boots on the ground from Minnesota just in case. Angle and Heller had a recount as did Reid ad Ensign. I hope Reid beats her by enough of a margin to avoid this, but this whole day will be a real nail biter for me and I am sure many others.
Hey Jon, don'tcha think it's about time for a new post here? If nothing, I wouldn't complain if you put the press release from the Nevada Whigs up. :)
