Man indicted after 219 marijuana plants found in home

A federal grand jury Tuesday indicted a North Las Vegas man for growing an estimated 219 marijuana plants in his home.

The indictment charged Andrew Jared Bothof with four criminal counts related to the manufacture and possession of marijuana.

According to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court, members of the North Las Vegas Police Department and SWAT Team executed a search warrant on May 5 at Bothof's residence at 4607 Erica Drive in North Las Vegas.

In addition to the plants, which were seized from two bedrooms, police found 3,900 grams of processed marijuana. Also seized were "a vast array" of indoor marijuana grow equipment, including growing pods, water reservoirs, liquid fertilizer, water pumps, lamp hoods, high wattage bulbs, light ballasts and plastic sheeting, the complaint stated.

After execution of the search warrant, Bothof was taken into custody at his place of employment.

The outcome of a plea hearing in this case before Magistrate Judge Peggy Leen was not immediately available.
