A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found Monday at a motel.

Jason Garcia, 40, is being charged with murder and grand larceny auto in the death of Melissa Brink, 30. The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified Brink on Wednesday as the woman found at Budget Suites, 2219 N. Rancho Drive.

Investigators responded Monday after a caller reported finding a body at Budget Suites, which is near Texas Station at West Lake Mead Boulevard.

The coroner’s office said Brink died of multiple stab wounds and incised cuts. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

Garcia was arrested in Pahrump on Tuesday after coming in contact with a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper and Nye County sheriff deputy, authorities said. He was booked into the Nye County jail and was transferred to the Clark County Detention Center Wednesday, where he is being held without bail.

Police were asking for the public's help in finding a white 2004 four-door Pontiac Grand Am with Nevada plates 813 SWF. Investigators said the vehicle might be in the possession of Garcia, who had been sought for questioning in the death.
