Coroner identifies man found in downtown motel

A man found at a downtown motel April 21 has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as 39-year-old Roger Dayag Galapon of Las Vegas.

Metro Police spokeswoman Officer Barbara Morgan said a construction worker saw the door cracked open at 12:44 p.m. at the Star Motel, 1418 Third St., and smelled something coming from the room. She said the worker entered the room and found the body.

The coroner’s office said Galapon died of multiple blunt force injuries. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Morgan said the body had been in the motel room for several days. His vehicle couldn't be found in the motel parking lot, she said.
