Texas Station
A 58-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg Tuesday night in what police are calling an armed robbery attempt in the parking lot of a North Las Vegas casino.
North Las Vegas Police said the shooting occurred about 10:35 p.m. in the northwest parking lot of the Texas Station Casino, 2101 Texas Star Lane.
The woman was walking in the parking lot when she was confronted by a woman and man armed with a handgun, police said. The man fired the weapon at the victim and fled with the woman in a dark blue Chrysler 300 with tinted windows and large chrome rims, police said.
The victim was treated at University Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Yeah Bonanza is a real ghetto, but hey Texas Station used to have great fireworks!
I hope the vid IDs the perp and they put in in prison for long enough that all of his rights and various orifaces get violated.
i worked for the other paper in town and they are located right there at mlk and bonanza.
freaking scary.
WELL I AM WHITE SURE IT IS NOT MY RACE .
Yeah Jumpman23 cause whites never do a thing!!!! You are truly ignorant!!!! Have a blessed day...

lol and whites dont shoot peple guns shoot people lol
wow the level of idiots on this site is mind blowing.
THEY SHOULD CALL IT GHETTO STATION.
Awesome comment, kuntakente! Thanks for being one of the exceptions that I see every day to negative stereotypes that I see every day. There are plenty of savory - even exemplary - hispanics and blacks.
It is a travesty that people in certain demographics do happen to constitute the majority of crimes. I respect you in spite of them just as you respect me in spite of all those greedy pigs on Wall St and in the World Bank (who are majority white and commit atrocious crimes on a mass scale). Whether the crimes are quantitative or qualitative in their excess, we're all in this together in the socioeconomic battle between the contributing, honest comfort-seekers and the callous, dishonest excess-seekers.
I'm a poor-french-white-ignorant-girl who live in a little town lost in france, BUT I thought that las vegas was the last place in the world where peolple had prejudices against the races.. I'm a little disappointed...
missFrench :
Your kidding right??
kunta, it is sad, isn't it? I am disappointed!! I try and tell someone that has his/her pants down over his butt what it means, but it seems to be the style...
Whether is should be called Ghettostation or not, watch yourselves!! We've reached a point in society where even if you look like you have something, you might get killed for it...
Keep Hope Alive!! Lmao
This race bashing has got to stop. I am not a politically correct type by no means, but seriously who cares what color, race, creed, etc. the crook is. The reality is that the people of Las Vegas (NLV and Henderson included) need to police themselves. Suspicious people, what ever the descriptor need to be called into to police. Overt violence on innocent victims is the quickest way to kill business and create blight. Help the police by taking pride in where you live, work and play. Since they cannot be everywhere all the time, be their eyes and ears as a good witness. A good partnership of the community with police and an active civic duty can really make a difference. A maggot is a maggot, no matter the color. Let's get rid of the turds.
I hate the FRENCH and I'm a Mexican!
KK:
"I'm black and I have enough education and pride to accept this unfortunate reality."
The only reality you should accept, is that misspelling 'KINTE' would do more harm to 'your' people, than your false claims of crime stats could!!
SteveM:
Btw- just for clarity, the Texas is located at Rancho/Lake Mead- right across from the Fiesta. I have no idea why it was lumped in with Bonanza.
Stingray:
"Whether the crimes are quantitative or qualitative in their excess, we're all in this together in the socioeconomic battle between the contributing, honest comfort-seekers and the callous, dishonest excess-seekers."
Yes. So, let me see if I can read between THOSE lines..."Some animals are more equal than others"
Wait- I feel like I read that somewhere before...
The North LV PD is more interested in traffic fines and writting citations for minor violations instead of actually protecting and serving the public it serves.
They flood the court system with so much paperwork it is ridiculas.Their is so much crime out there drugs, rape, burgurly, assault.I believe that if they spent more time fighting these crimes with training adding investigators, creating larger task forces to rid the gang element in North Las Vegas they would have a much more productive and inviting town.
The criminal element flocks to areas that the law enforcement is focused on areas not pertaining to them.
Example I know of a man who rides his bicycle to work and he was stopped for riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. The traffic was heavy and he wanted to stay out of the way of vehicles so he would not get hit.The fine was ridiculously high
He struggles to pay his bills and was a week late paying the citation. When he went to pay the fine he was arrested for being late instead of allowing him to pay the fine and allow him to go on his way. He missed 2 days of work due to this so now he is struggling to pay his bills for his family.Plus he had to pay even more than the original fine. All because he was trying to go to work at any means and arrive safely on his bicycle. All over riding a bicycle. Please!Doesn't
the North Las Vegas PD have anything better to do with there time. This guy was just a hard working citizen trying to make a living and is struggling to survive in this horible economy.
And now I read about this horrific crime and wonder while this is going on if the NLV PD was down the street harassing another bicyclist or someone walking or someone for making a right turn on red.
We pay our taxes to go towards protection of the community and it appears some of the local law enforcement feels that it can do what it wants and not do what is supposed to do.The lady that was shot should hold the NLV PD accountable.
I knowing I am thrashing the NLV PD but it is frustrating to constantly read these stories and then watch hard working citizens get jerked around for nothing.
VegasVixen, the only lines you're reading between are in your head. It's clear with your interpretation of my statement that you have no comprehension of what I was saying, and I said it pretty straight-forward. The only thing between the lines there is the fact that I'm sick of getting shafted by rich people who can't be happy with their plenty and people in poverty who feel entitled to take from middle class folks like me like we're actually not on a tight budget or something. I have no problem with people in all socioeconomic brackets, so long as they don't have a detrimental attitude problem about it. Nothing was said to suggest any form of inequity, contrived or otherwise.
Try having some comprehension before you practice skepticism. That you could draw any form of bigotry from what I said is ludicrous.
My impression is that minorities are as often victims as anyone else. To try to characterize the victims as one racial group, and the perpetrators as other races, is disingenuous and not useful. I live in a racially mixed neighborhood, and everyone is more vigilant, and concerned about the increase in crime.
We can't escape the race issue, but we should not paint every person of one race with the same brush.
I went to Texas in the 1990's before it was bought by Station Casinos. Thought it was in a scary location then. Obviously worse now. Stratosphere parking garage was a scary place too. I'll stick to the safety on the South Side of Sahara (I.E. strip) on my visits. Downtown is O.K. but the walk from the parking garages can keep you looking over your shoulder. I realize this can happen anywhere, but why increase the chances by going to these sketchy areas? This should keep the price low for whoever buys Texas from Stations.
And wouldn't the inclusion of race in the description help catch the shooters? Regardles of race.
