LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Fort Hood officer does public, her profession proud

Monday, March 15, 2010 | 2:01 a.m.

Recently, I had the distinct honor of personally meeting Fort Hood (Texas) civilian police Sgt. Kim Munley, the person who exchanged gunfire with Fort Hood terrorist Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan and ended the massacre that left 13 soldiers dead. (She was the guest of honor at an event a week ago in Las Vegas sponsored by Citizen Outreach.)

Sgt. Munley, who was wounded in the arm and leg during the November incident, exemplifies the finest examples of courage and intrepidity in the most dire of situations.

Hopefully, she will make a full recovery from her wounds.
