Laid-off workers currently receiving unemployment insurance benefits are contributing more to our sluggish economy by spending these benefits than the banks who received $700Â billion in a financial bailout from our government.
The people who are unemployed would rather work than take a government handout, but things are what they are. Members of Congress shouldn’t be playing politics with unemployment benefits for laid-off workers.
