Experts to discuss the future of nuclear ene

UNLV's Institute for Security Studies is hosting a panel discussion on the future of nuclear energy in the United States Thursday evening.

The event will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Atomic Testing Museum, 755 East Flamingo Road. Admission is free.

It will feature discussion of nuclear energy's role in a diversified energy portfolio as well as perception issues commonly tied to nuclear energy.

Tyrus W. Cobb, CEO of the Northern Nevada Network and former special assistant to President Ronald Reagan, will moderate the event. Panelists include UNLV Brookings Mountain West Scholar Charles Ebinger, Harry Reid Center for Environmental Studies Executive Director Oliver Hemmers, UNLV Dean's Professor of Government Dennis Pirages and UNR adjunct professor of energy security John Scire.
