Fatal crash
A man died Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Blue Diamond Road at Interstate 15, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
A witness told NHP troopers that a white Nissan Altima was traveling east on Blue Diamond at about 5 p.m. when the vehicle left the road in a construction area at I-15 for unknown reasons, Trooper Chelita Rojas said.
The vehicle hit a construction barricade, then went airborne and landed on construction materials, Rojas said.
The driver, a man who was the only occupant of the car, was dead when emergency responders arrived.
Investigators aren't sure what caused the car to leave the roadway, Rojas said.

Sounds like a possible suicide case so far...
Jesus, have you people ever heard of orange cones?
How many people have died on the roads in Vegas this year. We just moved here last Sept. and it seems like every day I read about another fatality. Especially with motorcycles. I don't go out much and if I didn't smoke ciggies, I would barely go downstairs. Man I love being home. But I digress.
Sandy...........Orange cones like creamsicles? :)
Every place where you have a medium sized city or larger there are going to be many road fatalities and many more injuries. The difference is the place where PGelsman might have moved from has so much more stuff going on that there simply isn't enough space in the newspaper to report every road fatality.
Avi: I agree but the road probably wasn't labeled well enough (signs and cones) and most of the time the idiots working on the them are standing around smoking and milking the job.
The city planners here are stuck some time in the 80's when this place was the casinos, some apartment buildings, and a bunch of medium sized to very large trailer parks scattered throughout the valley.
The dry air, cigarette smoke, and methamphetamine usage has dried out their inbred desert hillbilly minds. Think outside the trailer park morons, there are alot of people here now.
DaBears must've moved here from a Chicago slum, where a trailer would have rusted away from the alley urine
dabears
why is it that every time an accident happens in a construction zone people are so quick to blame it on the "labeling" of the road.. maybe it's because the "idiot" drivers out there don't know how to drive in normal conditions let alone where construction is..
secondly, it's been reported that he probably wasn't wearing his seat belt and may have had a medical episode..
I wish people would have all the facts before they speak instead of just spouting off what they think happened
