Something about that Roger Federer-Alejandro Falla tennis epic Monday made me think of the epic battle between Harry Reid and Sharron Angle. I’m not sure why. Reid is the No. 1-ranked political player in Nevada and Angle is the unknown. Angle essentially won the first two sets, building momentum in the primary with a flawless effort and taking a substantial early lead over Reid. But the resilient veteran has come back to take the next two sets, bringing all his skills for keeping the play on her far-right end of the court. And now it is essentially tied as we play the fifth. Will Reid make like Federer and produce a bagel in the general? Or will Angle, unlike Falla, avoid a collapse under the weight of the enormous pressure? Hey, it works. Sort of.
