Wade J. Simpson, AIA, LEED AP, principal of Pugsley. Simpson. Coulter. Architects joined the firm in 1992 and became a partner in 2003. As a hands-on principal, Simpson lends his leadership to many of the firm’s major projects, in charge of a multitude of educational, commercial, and mixed-use projects. With his direction the firm has recently designed several significant projects for UNLV, Southern Nevada Housing Authority, and Clark County School District. Simpson, a native of Las Vegas, has been involved with architecture since the age of 13, and won his first design competition as a sophomore in High School. He is active in the American Institute of Architects Las Vegas Chapter and the Nevada Chapter, having served as president of both; he is a member of the Las Vegas Executives Association, and sits on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity. Simpson is actively involved in the community and as an avid runner regularly participates in charitable races throughout the year. Simpson holds a National Council of Architectural Registration Board certificate and, reflecting his commitment to sustainable design, is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree from The University of Utah; he is a registered architect in Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico.
